Dress Code

MVCC Dress Code

Mount Vernon Country Club’s Dress Code is designed to enhance the overall Club experience for all our members, families, and guests, and is intended to ensure that all members have a pleasant atmosphere in which to enjoy the club’s facilities and services. Compliance with the dress code by family and guests is the responsibility of the member. Parents have the responsibility to provide clear guidance and oversight of these guidelines to their children and family caregivers. Club management has been authorized to politely inform the member of the dress code violation and request the member or guest to change into appropriate attire. If the member or guest refuses to do so, the member or guest may be denied service or access to club facilities.

Golf Course and Practice Facilities

Conventional golf attire is required for everyone using the golf course, driving range, and practice facilities. Individuals not appropriately attired will be asked to change their attire or be denied use of the golf facilities. Metal spikes are not permitted anywhere on the Club’s premises. Only approved golf shoes with soft spikes or shoes with rubber soles are allowed.

Men/Boys

Conventional golf attire must always be worn when on the golf course and practice areas. Shirts with golf collars and sleeves, turtlenecks/mock turtlenecks, slacks, or golf shorts are appropriate. Golf shirts must be tucked-in at all times. Golf caps must be worn forward.

Women/Girls

Conventional golf attire must always be worn on the golf course and practice areas. Women’s golf dresses, shorts, skorts and skirts in various styles are appropriate. Golf shirts may be sleeveless shirts with collars, mandarin collars or collarless shirts with sleeves. Shirts designed and manufactured to be untucked may be worn untucked.

NOTE: Jeans, denim, cutoffs, sweatpants, tank tops, halter tops, swimming outfits, jogging outfits, athletic shorts, cargo pants, cargo shorts and sweatpants are not permitted. Tank tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps, bare midriffs and other revealing clothing are not permitted.

The Golf Committee and Golf Staff reserve the right to determine if a player’s clothing is considered appropriate and may request a change of attire before the player is permitted on the course or practice facility.

Clubhouse

The attire at MVCC is Country Club Casual, which means clothing that is respectful of other members and their guests, neat and well-maintained, and appropriate to the event and the location. Unless an event dictates otherwise, dress denim and attire permitted on the golf course is considered appropriate in all areas of the clubhouse. Dress denim must be clean, not worn, torn or baggy. Men are required to remove caps/visors/hats when in the main dining room. The club’s standards of dress are required for all members and guests over 12 years of age.

Not Permitted At Any Time in The Clubhouse

T-shirts (unless age 11 and under), undershirts, tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, uncovered midriffs, workout attire, undergarments worn as out-garments, untucked shirts unless they are manufactured to be worn untucked, cleats, gym shorts, cutoff shorts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, swimsuits, rubber flip flops or shower shoes, bare feet, torn, patched, excessively dirty, loose or baggy clothing.

Questions or comments about the dress code should be directed to the General Manager.

Cell Phone / Electronic Devices Policy

Cell phones and other electronic devices may be used to text, check email, read, or perform other silent activities anywhere on club premises.

Clubhouse

The use of cell phones to receive or make calls is prohibited in the Member’s Grill, the Dining Room, Sam’s Place, and the patio dining area, except for emergency situations. Emergency situations are defined as those involving life-threatening or safety-related issues. An individual receiving a call while in the Club should note the number and proceed to one of the “cell phone friendly areas” to return the call. Cell phone friendly areas include the locker rooms, exterior terraces (except when being used for dining), exterior walkways, and parking areas. Cell phones must be programmed for vibrate or silent mode while in the Club.

Golf Course

Cell phones are permitted on the golf course and practice facilities provided the ringer is programmed for silent or vibrate mode. Please respect those around you by only using your cell phone when necessary, in a quiet and considerate manner, and without delaying play.

Pool

The use of cell phones to make or receive calls is permitted in the pool area. Please respect those around you by only using your cell phone when necessary, and in a quiet and considerate manner.
