Mount Vernon Country Club Becomes Supporting Partner for America250

Alexandria-based Club is First Country Club in the Nation to Gain Supporting Partner Status

Alexandria, Va. – Mount Vernon Country Club (MVCC) and America250 announce today that MVCC is the first country club in the nation to achieve Supporting Partner status as part of America’s Semiquincentennial celebration. Founded in 1961 and steeped in the legacy of America’s founding, MVCC is the only country club in the United States that sits on one of President George Washington’s original five farms - Union Farm. America250 is the national nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

As a Supporting Partner of America250, MVCC will host a year filled with unique “America250” special events. From a speaker series featuring America250 leaders to culinary events that celebrate the colonial cuisine to educational programming, MVCC’s efforts will engage its members and guests of all ages in uplifting this historic commemoration. MVCC is launching its Semiquincentennial programming with a George Washington Birthday Party on February 22 that will feature renowned Washington Interpreter, Brian Hilton.

MVCC’s Semiquincentennial programming involves partnerships with George Washington’s Mount Vernon, the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) and PGA Hope.
